An easy-to-use reel to launch an smb. Unlike our Axle reel, where the patented foldable handle is fixed to the body, the Lock-Nut reel rotates independently from the handle.

To deploy your DSMB simply unscrew the lock by a half turn, thereby allowing the body of the reel to rotate independently from the handle. Once your DSMB is deployed, lock the reel in place to allow for a simple rewinding of the line.

Built out of a 3d printed nylon composite, making it incredibly light at 230g and very strong.

Holds 65 metres of 1.5mm Black and White Dyneema line with a breaking strength of 90 kilos or a Neon Orange Polyester line.

Comes with a 115mm double-ended stainless steel bolt snap.

Good product

Overall product is good and does as described. Materials used however are cheap and provide no longevity. I expect to need to replace this item within 2 years.

I wanted to share our choice of materials for this product, so we can address any concerns you may have about quality and longevity:
The main body of the reel is built with PA12 nylon, a material often used in the automotive industry for it's mechanical strength, chemical & thermal resistance and dimensional stability.
The handle is made using Onyx: a proprietary material created by MarkForged using a mix of chopped strands of carbon fibre and nylon, you can find more information on this material by visiting the MarkForged website.
While the handle might deform very slowly over time due to the fact the plastic forms a living hinge, we offer replacements on our shop, simply unscrew the existing handle and replace it with the new one.
